Season Series Meaningless Come Playoff Time

There have been 74 playoff series in the history of MLS. 22 of them were between teams that split the season series, but the rest saw one team with an advantage. The results of those 52 playoff matchups? The teams that win the playoff matchup are 25-27 in the season series. No impact at all. Keep that in mind for the Dynamo-Rapids game. Everyone expects Houston to win, especially considering the season opener (5-2 in Houston). I still expect them to win, but that game means nothing now.

DC vs NE (1-1-2)
HOU vs COL (2-1-1)

Winners Tied
1996 4-2 1
1997 3-4 0
1998 2-3 2
1999 2-3 2
2000 2-1 4
2001 1-2 4
2002 2-2 3
2003 2-4 1
2004 4-1 2
2005 2-3 2
2006 1-2 1

Total 25-27 22

Quick question: Has any site (including yours) documented the season series won/lost by each team for every season (and/or all-time)?

If not, maybe can consider start one soon? Though could be quite a lot of work for it... :-)

No, I haven't done that or seen it anywhere. It doesn't seem like something interesting enough to spend time on, honestly.

Plus, I'm pretty sure you can find the head to head results on MLSnet on the league stats pages.
