Until last season, the future MLS Cup winner had won their season opening game 7 years in a row. The Los Angeles Galaxy screwed it up by losing 3-0 at the Columbus Crew. I guess that bodes well for New England and Houston.
They also lost their final regular season game, but that's not a big deal for future champions. So much for momentum.
