BASAs: Rookie of the Year
(5-3-1 scoring system) A near unanimous vote as Bornstein wins to no one's surprise. The race for second was closer; Kljestan took it despite appearing on fewer ballots than Ballouchy. A 1-2 sweep for Chivas. No votes for three guys who got a lot of playing time: Willis Forko, Jason Garey, and Nathan Sturgis. post a commentGarey was largely ineffective for most of the season, though he was showing signs of coming on towards the second half
Forko was impressive, in fact he was a bright spot for the RSL backline. I just couldn't give recognition to the defense that conceded the most goals in 2006.
If Sturgis had been healthy all season, I would have put him number 1. The Galaxy were much better with him.
