MLS Cup: Various interesting stats

1) 11 players in this year's MLS Cup have played in one of the previous 9. They are:

Chris Albright
Landon Donovan
Kevin Hartman
Cobi Jones
Tyrone Marshall
Peter Vagenas

Joe Franchino
Jay Heaps
Daniel Hernandez
Steve Ralston
Taylor Twellman

2) 156 total players have played in an MLS Cup. 14 of them have represented 2 different teams (soon to be joined by Donovan):

Jeff Agoos (DC/SJ)
Chris Armas (LA/CHI)
Jimmy Conrad (SJ/KC)
Diego Gutierrez (CHI/KC)
Wolde Harris (COL/KC)
Chris Henderson (COL/KC)
Zak Ibsen (LA/SJ)
Dema Kovalenko (CHI/DC)
Carlos Llamosa (DC/NE)
Brian Mullan (LA/SJ)
Brandon Prideaux (KC/DC)
Ante Razov (LA/CHI)
Peter Vermes (COL/KC)
Josh Wolff (CHI/KC)

Agoos, Kovalenko, and Prideaux are the only guys to win it with both teams. Ibsen has the fewest minutes of any of these players, 24 in two sub appearances.

(EDIT: Kovalenko played for Chicago in 2000, not in 1998 when they won. My bad)

3) Stat leaders:

Goals

3-Donovan
2-Eskandarian, Moreno, Sanneh

Assists

2-Etcheverry, Nowak

Yellow Cards

2-Etcheverry, Gutierrez, Olsen

Red Cards

1-Kovalenko

Games

6-Agoos
5-Moreno
4-Armas, Cienfuegos, Etchverry, Jones, Llamosa, Pope, Razov, Williams

Minutes

550-Agoos
454-Moreno
393-Jones

4) Fewest minutes played in an MLS Cup:

1-Francisco Gomez
3-Geoff Aunger
8-Diego Walsh
9-Nate Jaqua
9-Ross Paule
9-Mike Slivinski

5) Of the 28 goals scored in the MLS Cups, 16 were by Americans and 10 by foreigners (2 own goals). Last year's game was the first without a foreign goal. Also, for 7 straight years (1997-2003), the winning team had a foreigner score.
