2007 MLS Teams & Their All Time Ranks

I plan on having a more detailed post in near future detailing the 2007 performances in comparison to last year's. But for now see how each team stacked up in the all time rankings:

Overall Offense Defense Franchise Rank
CHI 79 126 26 8th out of 10
CHV 18 59 4 1st out of 3
CLB 94 103 59 9th out of 12
COL 108 131 14 10th out of 12
DAL 52 111 59 5th out of 12
DC 10 17 14 4th out of 12
HOU 20 77 1 1st out of 2
KC 76 62 65 7th out of 12
LA 111 106 91 12th out of 12
NE 27 33 56 2nd out of 12
NY 56 52 65 4th out of 12
RSL 127 126 65 2nd out of 3
TOR 129 135 93 1st out of 1

Overall refers to points per game (shootouts as draws). Franchise rank uses that as well.

This is out of 135 team seasons. Houston had the best defense of all time, while Toronto had the worst offense ever. Today's offenses will look worse because of fewer goals being scored in comparison to the first few years. However it does make the defenses look better. I've been meaning to adjust the numbers to better compare every season; I'll do that eventually.

RSL and Toronto are 9th and 7th worst teams all time respectively, while DC makes the top ten as one of the best teams.

Also, for the first time ever 5 teams missed the playoffs. CLB was the best team to miss out, but they're only the 6th best team to not make it all time (#1 is 2005 KC). The worst team ever to make the playoffs? 1999 Miami Fusion. They had the equivalent of an 8-15-9 record. 1998 Miami is #2, while the 2004 Revs are third.

How bout this years Chicago offense being so bad? With them being so hot down the stretch, having Blanco and all, still at 126 out of 135? Wow.
