The 2010 Los Angeles Galaxy rank as the 4th best team in league history, while 2010 Real Salt Lake also makes the top ten. However, that's not the only top ten pair of teams in the ranking: 2001 Miami and Chicago rank 2nd & 5th, and 1998 DC and LA are 1st & 6th. A draw wouldn't have done it. Three other teams had their best ever seasons, though they're all recent expansion teams. DC United and Houston ended up with their worst ever teams by a good margin. I think the numbers need to be adjusted for each season, because the early years of MLS had a large amount of goals per game.
